Originally founded by the West Semitic semi-nomadic Aramean people and considered one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, Damascus
is the modern capital of Syria. Recently, it also became the official capital of Arab culture, so showing it has all it takes to become the new Marrakesh.
